BUCKHEAD — It happens every year now. Hundreds of women stampede for a chance to grab a wedding dress at a significant discount. And this year, a fight over one was caught on tape.

The 7th annual “Running of the Brides” was held Friday in Atlanta. What is the running of the brides? It is a virtual stampede at Filene’s Basement in Buckhead for the chance at a finding a wedding dress at up to 90 percent off.

Although the event is very competitive, it is all in the spirit of fun for a lot of the brides. They even help each other out, as long as they are not searching for the same size.

But this year, we caught two women who did want the same dress. And it came down to a slapping match all caught on tape.

Women come from around the U.S. for the annual sale and camp out outside the store starting Thursday afternoon. Those who find a dress can remember how they stampeded for it as they are walking daintily down the aisle on their wedding day.
