About Cakes by the Lake

Susan has been baking and decorating cakes and other desserts for over fifteen years. She has worked as a cake decorator for the Common Man group of restaurants in New Hampshire as well as providing cakes and desserts for events at premier golf clubs, private schools, and corporate venues. She is a Wilton Master Course graduate of the Wilton School in Chicago. Susan has also completed a number of specialty courses in floral gum paste design, cold porcelain sculptures and pulled sugar (a rare and unique craft). Susan is an active member of ICES and the Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire Societies of cake decoration.

World Class Instruction

Susan has studied under a number of world renowned artists and decorators during her years of training. With Toba Garrett, she trained in the art of Australian string art. She has recently taken a series of courses given by Toronto's Geraldine Randlesome in fondant and cold porcelain flowers. Cold porcelain flowers and other specialty decorations that are hand made can create a most memorable cake Susan continues to educate herself on the latest tastes and trends to be able to bring you a wonderful cake creation.
